Angela Marturano
CO-FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

These words encompass my philosophy about meaningful work. The relationship between businesses and the people who lead them has always fascinated me.
My path: My sense of responsibility caused me to jump into work as soon as I could be hired. My pragmatism suggested that a Sales & Business Marketing degree could help me continue opening doors. My sense of adventure pulled me towards diverse experiences across industries and functions along the way. When I was recruited into recruiting at 23, I never imagined it would so quickly propel—and perhaps repel—me into my own business adventure.
My purpose: Orchid Holistic Search has been a big part of my life’s purpose: to consciously align companies with the right humans, in a values-aligned industry. Living life in accordance with nature makes me grateful beyond measure; living in Costa Rica surrounded by nourishing food and relationships.
My role: I connect deeply with my Client partners to uncover needs of the team holistically, develop a search strategy, and guide them through our holistic search process with the ultimate goal of pairing them with their first choice candidate.
My spare time: VP Growth & Culture, Blanco y Negro, a woman-led regenerative farm in Costa Rica. Leading women’s retreats. Cooking nourishing food, hiking, being Mama.
Dr. Matthew Marturano

I believe that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from nature.
My path: Growing up with a computer always at my fingertips, I came to love technology and data science from a young age. During my training as a naturopathic doctor, I experienced firsthand how nature has already devised brilliant solutions to most of our ills, if only we could recognize it for what it is, rather than what it is not.
My purpose: Orchid Holistic Search is one way that I’ve worked to bring tech and nature—two seemingly disparate worlds—together as one.
My role: I operate behind the scenes to manage all the processes and techy stuff so you can experience the “magic” of holistic executive search.
My spare time: Playing piano, reading, and deep dives into various subjects such as blockchain and AI, the human gut microbiome, and philosophy.
Julia Gonser

My path: In life and work, I’ve courageously sought after challenges while keeping in mind my natural talents: connecting and uplifting humans. After several mentors and friends suggested a career path in executive search would be a perfect match for me, I took it as a sign from the universe and dove in—heart first. As an ex-pro Chef and health-conscious human, I am a loyal fan of better-for-you products so working in this industry is a dream come true!
My purpose: Orchid Holistic Search allows me to use my talent of connecting to work with brands that I love. My mission is to support founders and leaders who are making great efforts to do better—for our community, our bellies, and our planet.
My role: Through active listening, industry expertise, hard work, and intuition; I serve as a strategic partner to our clients, recruiting and sourcing top-tier candidates for their teams.
My spare time: Nerding out on new products at Whole Foods. Founding Board Member of Cultivate Bend. Cooking, anything in nature, yoga, pilates, self-growth and mindfulness studies.
